GMOC ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

The City.s Growth Management Oversight Commission (GMOC) is looking for an educator and a

representative of the development industry to fill two vacant seats on the commission.

Since 1987, the Commission.s nine members have been listening to the community.s concerns about

growth and passing on their suggestions to the City Council. The GMOC is assigned to monitor Chula

Vista.s growth and examine the impact it has on the quality of life of local residents. The growth

management program establishes 11 quality of life thresholds that must be maintained as the City

expands. Those thresholds include: police, fire, library, parks & recreation, traffic, sewer, drainage,

fiscal, water, air quality and schools.

The term of the development representative expires on June 30, 2010; the education representative is

expected to serve until June 30, 2011.

To be eligible to serve on the GMOC, a candidate must be a registered voter of the City of Chula Vista.

Those interested in serving can pick up an application at the City Clerk.s Office at 276 Fourth Avenue

(619) 691-5041, or download an application online by visiting
