Employers from around the county will participate in a City of Chula Vista sponsored South Bay Career Fair, Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Civic Center, located at 276 Fourth Avenue. The event is open to job-seekers of all ages—from teens to adults. Employers are hoping to fill more than 500 professional positions and summer job openings.
Among the businesses signed up for the Career Fair are: the San Diego Regional Airport Authority, South County Career Center, insurance and mortgage companies, Best Buy-Geek Squad, UCSD, 24 Hour Fitness, Petco Park, Knotts Soak City, Southwestern College, U.S Customs and the City’s Recreation Department.
The job fair will be located around the corner from Fire Station 1, which will be hosting an open house and offering tours of the facility. Representatives of McMillin Racing, including Andy McMillin, will sign autographs and display several of the team’s racing trucks. Chula Vista Police, the National Guard and the Border Patrol will exhibit some of their high profile gear and equipment. Several sponsors are donating gifts to raffle off to event-goers.
