FREE “MUSIC IN THE PARK” SUMMER CONCERTS START JUNE 3
“Music In The Park,” a free summer concert series, will offer a variety of musical sounds in three Chula Vista parks beginning June 3 and continuing until Aug. 26.�� Featured bands will play music ranging from patriotic, R&B and Latin jazz to Big Band, blues and oldies.�� All of the concerts will be presented on Sundays from 5 to 6:30 p.m.�
This summer’s concerts are slated in three different parks in three different regions of Chula Vista.�All of the concerts in June are scheduled in eastern Chula Vista on the patio of Salt Creek Park Recreation Center, located at 2710 Otay Lakes Road.�In July the concerts will be presented at the Veterans Park, 785 East Palomar St.---a central-city location.�� The August concerts are set in Memorial Park, located in downtown/western Chula Vista at 373 Park Way.
�“Our annual concert series has experienced tremendous growth and change in terms of quality, diversity and popularity,” said Arts and Culture Manager Roderick Reinhart.�“It truly has become the ‘flagship’ of summer programs in the city.�We invite residents to bring their family and friends along with a picnic for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon with Music in the Park.”�
Concertgoers are reminded to check the schedule as the parks vary each month.�This summer’s schedule is:

June 10, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Pacific Brass & Electric, classic Motown, Tower of Power
June 17, 5-6:30 p.m.:�The Players, 70s and 80s standards
June 24, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Scott Martin Latin Soul Band, latin/jazz blues
July---Veterans Park, 785 East Palomar St.:
July 1, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Bayou Brothers, Cajun/Zydeco music
July 8, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Westwind Brass, music of the Americas
July 15, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Ultratones, hot dance music of the 70s, 80s and 90s
July 22, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Breez’n, music of the 50s, 60s and 70s
July 29, 5-6:30 p.m.: Smokestaxx, classical soul and rock ’n ’roll

Aug. 5, 5-6:30 p.m.:��� Sue Palmer & Her Motel Swing Orchestra, boogie-woogie, 50s and ragtime blues
Aug. 12, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Lao Tizer Band, smooth contemporary jazz
Aug. 19, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Cool Fever, down home blues and more
Aug. 26, 5-6:30 p.m.:�Fattburger – smooth jazz
