Chula Vista Redevelopment Corporation Seeks Directors
The Chula Vista Redevelopment Corporation (CVRC) is looking for dynamic leaders with professional experience to apply for its Board of Directors. Applicants must be Chula Vista residents.
Vacancies on the board, which advises the Redevelopment Agency and City Council on redevelopment projects and issues, were recently created when the CVRC was restructured. The City’s Mayor and four Council members removed themselves from the nine-member Board of Directors, opening up to five positions.
The CVRC is a non-profit, public benefit organization formed by the city to support the planning and redevelopment activities of the City Council and Redevelopment Agency. Its members consist of local and regional experts who help oversee the redevelopment process. These individuals are among the county’s most talented and creative professionals and must have expertise in at least one of the following fields: business; finance; architecture; civil engineering; urban planning and/or design; science; education; environmental planning; environmental remediation; environmental law; and real estate development, investment and law.
As the City gears up for redevelopment opportunities in some of Chula Vista’s older neighborhoods, the high profile CVRC will play a key role in shaping the city’s future.
Applications are due at the Office of the City Clerk (276 Fourth Ave.) July 2.
