Mayor Accepts Nieto Resignation
Appoints Miller to Airport Board
Chula Vista Mayor Cheryl Cox announced today that she has accepted the resignation of Paul Nieto as her representative to the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. Nieto’s resignation was effective Monday, July 23.
Cox immediately appointed John “Jack” Miller as Nieto’s replacement on the Airport Board. Miller is currently employed as the Senior Project Manager for major capital projects at Gafcon, a San Diego construction consulting firm. Miller, a licensed pilot who served 25 years in the U.S. Navy, has experience in airport management. For three years, Miller managed the operations, maintenance and business affairs of San Diego County’s airports. That position included administering leases, contracts, property management and construction coordination.
“Jack Miller’s credentials are outstanding. The South County will be well represented by a person with his experience and skills,” said Mayor Cox. “He was pleased to accept the appointment.”
As Chula Vista’s mayor, Cox has the authority to appoint a representative to the Airport Authority. Nieto was appointed to the board by former Mayor Shirley Horton. |
