ARCHERY:

Ongoing Resident Team Training (17 participants)

  • Daily training and instruction for resident archery squad

Junior Dream Team Training Camp, April 13 – April 19 (32 participants)

  • Technique training and preparation for future Olympics for Junior archers

Roadrunner Archery Club (35 participants)

  • Community archery club
 

ATHLETICS:

Ongoing Resident Team Training (44 participants)

  • Long-term training program for track and field athletes
    • Participants include 2008 Olympians Trevell Quinley, Alice Schmidt, Ian Waltz, Mike Hazle, and Monique Henderson

Team Running USA Camp, April 6 – June 30 (16 participants)

  • Distance running training for 2009 National Championships and 2009 IAAF World Championships

International/Global Throwing Camp, April 15 – May 15 (13 participants)

  • Group of elite foreign athletes preparing for 2009 World Championships

German Pole Vault Team Training Camp, April 18 – May 10 (8 participants)

  • Prep for 2009 World Championships
 

CANOE/KAYAK:

Ongoing Resident Team Training (18 participants)

  • Long-term training program for sprint kayak athletes
    • Participants include 2008 Olympians Carrie Johnson and Rami Zur

Swiss Team K1 Training Camp, April 1 – April 16 (1 participant)

  • Training for David Gubser, one of Switzerland’s top paddlers

Talent Identification Camp, April 1 – May 22 (4 participants)

  • Evaluation of athletes who were members of the 2007 Pan American Games team

Slovakia National Team Training, April 1 – April 9 (9 participants)

  • Training program with U.S. to enhance both teams’ development leading up to 2012 Olympics
 

CYCLING:

Ongoing Resident Team Training (3 participants)

  • Long-term training program for BMX athletes

BMX Elite and U-23 Training Camp, April 27 – May 4 (13 participants)

  • Training for Copenhagen Supercross competition

Mountain Bike Spring Training Camp, April 1 – April 17 (4 participants)

  • Preparation for spring European trip

BMX Junior Elite Identification Camp, April 6 – April 13 (11 participants)

  • Training for Madrid Supercross competition
 
 

FIELD HOCKEY:

Women’s Resident Team Training (30 participants)

  • Long-term training program for Women’s National Field Hockey Team

Men’s Junior National Team Training, April 5 – April 25 (20 participants)

  • Daily training sessions and intra-squad games
 

PARALYMPIC SPORTS:

Track and Field Resident Team Training (15 participants)

  • Long-term training program for Paralympic track and field athletes

Archery Training Camp, April 1 – April 5 (26 participants)

  • Training and instruction for Paralympic archery squad

Cycling Training Camp, April 24 – May 2 (24 participants)

  • High-level training for Paralympic athletes preparing for 2009 World Championships

Soccer Team Training, April 5 – April 12 (20 participants)

  • Preparation for 2009 World Championships
 

ROWING:

Ongoing Resident Team Training (1 participant)

  • Long-term training program for 2008 Olympic gold medalist Susan Francia
 

TRIATHLON:

National Team Training (5 participants)

  • Training for a rotating group of Senior and Junior National Team members
 
 

SPECIAL EVENTS:

2009 Canoe/Kayak World Team Trials, April 20 – April 27 (140 participants)

  • Junior and Senior athletes from around the world competing in sprint and marathon team trials on Lower Otay Lake at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center

E-Waste Recycling Event, April 25

  • Public recycling event held at the Copley Visitor Center at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center
