History of the park
The water park in Chula Vista originally opened in 2000 and was named White Water Canyon. Following 12 or less years of operation, I think there were some years it never opened, it was purchased by Knotts (Cedar Fair) and renamed Soak City. In 2013, a deal was struck with Seaworld Parks and Entertainment and the property was again sold and renamed. It is now known as Aquatica San Diego. Sadly, Seaworld chose to use San Diego in the name and not Chula Vista even though the park has for over 15 years been a regualr attraction in the city. So for the record, this is the Chula Vista Water Park or the water park in Chula Vista that is currently owned and operated by Seaworld.
