What is a Vacation Rental?

Maximizing your family while vacationing in San Diego is not a complex formula but rather a series of choices based on the participants. I would have to say that there is one constant in each family's list of desires and that would be the beach. The trick to a fun and exciting stay in San Diego is securing a spot near the or on the beach. Some hotels can accommodate visitors but not the way a vacation rental can. Vacation rentals are often very close to the action. Hotels are often surrounded by retails ready to treat you as a tourist where the condo/beach house rentals are set apart allowing you to live as the locals do. The real difference is you're living in San Diego for a week vs. vacationing in an Diego for a week.

The experience is like this, you rent a condo,townhouse, or residence on Mission Bay for example. You go to the local store where Bob the local helps you pick out some steaks that will grill on the grill so graciously provided with your rental. That grill is situated next to the table, chair and lounge on your patio that sits on the sidewalk on the sand. That sand before you is all that separates your patio from the bay front view. That sidewalk is where you take walks with your spouse in the morning while you drink coffee you purchased on your walk to the local coffee shop. You essentially live within a vacation while you are "at home" instead of living in the hotel.

Now a little reality check, if you did not use paper plates (you have to purchases these only real plates are provided at these places most times) you will have to do the dishes from your meal.

Summary: Keep an open mind and think about it as a vacation option. I know people that have discovered this kind of San Diego vacation living and do it twice a year. In once instance they bought a place 2 doors down they liked it so much. That place is a vacation rental now too.
