CHULA VISTA, Oct. 16, 2026 — Chula Vista Community Collaborative and FIT Gym are asking the community to help provide new Halloween costumes for 150 local children whose families may not be able to purchase one this year.
The organizations say donations have been coming in slowly and are seeking new costumes for children ages 4 to 12. The deadline is Wednesday, October 21.
How to help
- Donate a new Halloween costume for a child age 4–12.
- Organize a costume collection through a business, church, school or community group.
- Sponsor the purchase of costumes.
- Share the donation drive with other Chula Vista residents.
Donations can be dropped off at 540 G Street, Chula Vista, CA 91910, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Questions about donations can be directed to Jovita Arellano at (619) 227-4588, according to NBC 7.
This is the kind of small, local effort that can make a meaningful difference for families. Halloween should be fun for kids, and a costume drive is a simple way for neighbors to help make that happen.
