Chula Vista 4th of July Cancelled No Fireworks

Sadly there are No Fireworks Chula Vista this fourth of July is canceled 🙁

Like many cities throughout San Diego County, Chula Vista announced it would not be holding any official Independence Day celebrations because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Due to the safety and welfare of our residents, the City of Chula Vista will not be hosting a 4th Fest event nor holding a fireworks show this year,” city spokeswoman Diane Howell said in a statement Tuesday.

The Chula Vista Firefighters Foundation’s annual pancake breakfast is also cancelled.

On top of that, Chula Vista will not be permitting any block parties in the city for the foreseeable future, according to the statement.

City officials reminded residents that private use of fireworks is against the law.

This includes firecrackers, sparklers, bottle rockets, M-80’s, roman candles, cherry bombs, snapper and, of course, poppers.

Additionally, bringing fireworks into the United States from Mexico is a crime that carries a penalty of fines and imprisonment.
