Chula Vista Bayfront Shuttle Resumes Service After Temporary Shutdown

CHULA VISTA — October 28, 2026. Chula Vista’s free Bayfront Shuttle has resumed normal operations after a temporary service disruption, restoring a transportation link between the waterfront and nearby community destinations.

The city confirmed the restart in an official community announcement. Its earlier October 26 notice said an unexpected issue had halted service while the city and shuttle operator worked to resolve it. That notice did not identify a specific mechanical or operational cause.

Hours and routes

The city’s resumption announcement lists the Green Line as operating daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the Blue Line from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rides are free.

According to the city’s shuttle information page, the Blue Line primarily links the bayfront with the E Street and H Street transit centers. The Green Line connects the waterfront with the adjacent community. The program serves destinations that include downtown Chula Vista, Chula Vista Center, parks and the Living Coast Discovery Center.

Check the shuttle before heading out

Riders can use the city’s route and live-tracking page to see shuttle locations and estimated arrivals. The city lists an approximate 15-minute frequency, which should be treated as a planning estimate rather than a guaranteed arrival time.

The electric vans accommodate ADA accessibility needs. The city also notes holiday exceptions, including Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The restart gives residents and visitors another option for reaching the waterfront and connecting with transit. Anyone planning a trip should check the live tracker and latest city notices for changes.
