Chula Vista’s dining scene continues to expand, with several new restaurants and coffee shops either opening soon or moving through planning and permitting.
Luna Grill sets October 28 opening at Chula Vista Center
Luna Grill has confirmed that its new Chula Vista location at 555 Broadway, Suite 135 will hold its grand opening on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
The Mediterranean restaurant says the first 50 guests in line will receive a free bowl and Luna Grill hat. The company lists the Chula Vista restaurant among its fall 2026 openings.
Three Boys Coffee plans location near Southwestern College
Three Boys Coffee is preparing a second location at 945 Otay Lakes Road in College Plaza, across from Southwestern College.
According to reporting based on San Diego County permitting records, the family-owned coffee shop is seeking to take over a roughly 1,700-square-foot space. The company’s own website has listed the Chula Vista location as “coming soon.”
El Rincon Cocina working on second restaurant in Chula Vista
El Rincon Cocina, a family-owned Mexican restaurant known for Guadalajara-style dishes, is working on a second location at 651 Palomar Street, Suite 20.
The project has entered the permitting process, though owner Silvana Alaniz has said there is not yet a firm opening date because the space will require renovations.
Dave’s Hot Chicken planned for Plaza 655
Dave’s Hot Chicken is also planned for Chula Vista as part of the Plaza 655 redevelopment at 655 H Street.
Franchise operators have said the location is expected to open in 2027, although a specific date has not yet been announced.
