Chula Vista, wouldn’t be Chula Vista Without: Sunsets

Hello and welcome to a new series where we will be discussing what makes the wonderful city of Chula Vista so great! But before I proceed, let me introduce myself briefly, my name is Natalie, and I am the latest member of the ChulaVista.com family! Some of my interests include, but are not limited to: coffee, computers, and anything creative.

Now back to today’s topic, we are talking about: sunsets. And I know what you might be thinking, “Sunsets aren’t unique to Chula Vista…” and this is true! Unless you are in an underground bunker, or in a yellow submarine somewhere, on a clear day you can look out of any window  and you will most likely be able to catch a glimpse of the sun setting.

However, the thing that sets Chula Vista apart from any other place, is in the name of our city! That’s right! Chula Vista, for those non-Spanish speakers, means “beautiful view”. Whether you live close to the bay side near the J st marina, or on the rolling hills of Eastlake, there is no arguing the fact that we are surrounded by beautiful views. There’s something so soothing about seeing the sky change colors during an evening commute home from work, and I think many people can agree. So regardless of if you are having a good, or bad day, take a minute to appreciate the calming colorful display that the sun leaves behind as it says, “Good night Chula Vista, you’ve made it through another day, rest now and I will see you in the morning.”
